Definition of Hypnotherapy

How does it work?

What form might the hypnotherapy take?

The readiness and ability of clients to be and hypnotherapy generally requires several sessions in order to achieve meaningful results.  the client can learn the technique of self-hypnosis which can be practiced at home, to reinforce the usefulness of formal sessions with the therapist.  This can help counter distress and anxiety-related conditions.
Hypnotherapy can be applied to many psychological, emotional and physical disorders.  It is used to relieve pain in surgery and dentistry and has proved to be of benefit in obstetrics.  It can shorten the delivery stage of and reduce the need for painkillers.  It can ease the suffering of the disabled and those facing terminal illness, and it has been shown to help people to overcome addictions such as smoking to help with bulimia.
Children are generally easy to and can be helped with nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting) and chronic asthma, whilst teenagers can conquer stammering or blushing problems which can otherwise make their lives miserable.
Phobias of all kinds lend themselves well to hypnotherapy, and anyone suffering from panic attacks or obsessional and stress-related problems like may benefit.  Conditions exacerbated by tension, such as irritable bowel syndrome, psoriasis and eczema, and excessive sweating, respond well, and even tinnitus and clicky jaws (-mandibular joint dysfunction) can be treated by these techniques.
The benefits of including other complementary therapies, such as Meridian Tapping:
Hypnotherapy sessions are enhanced by other effective contemporary psychological approaches to provides maximum benefit, where appropriate.
Thought Field Therapy, developed by Roger Callahan uses the body's meridians, those used in acupuncture and acupressure, to remove perturbations, in the thought field. For example, when you think about something which is disturbing or emotionally fuelled and at the same time tap the meridian points in a certain sequence, this can alleviate or collapse the associated negative feelings, often leading to a significant shift in your feelings. This therapy uses specific algorithms to treat different problems.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)  is a simplified version of Thought Field Therapy, developed by one of Callahan's students, Gary Craig. This therapy uses one simplified sequence to treat a diverse range of issues, including Anxiety, Trauma, Smoking, Weight Loss, Phobias Habits.
Hypnotherapy seeks the root cause of problems, empowering internal resources to resolve the symptoms and achieve lasting change.FREE Consultation  A free consultation is available should you wish to clarify the suitability of hypnotherapy to meet your goals, which approach or approaches would be best to meet your needs, and to work out an initial, flexible outline plan. This typically takes approx. 20 and should you decide to proceed, is usually followed by your first hypnotherapy session.
Depending upon the issue, some clients can achieve what they want in 1-4 sessions, while others may require a little longer, typically 5-10 sessions. I work in partnership with clients to ensure sessions are tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
**It would not be realistic for me to make guarantees with clinical hypnotherapy. Results will and do vary from individual to individual. Each individual is unique and responds accordingly and will achieve the outcome in their own way with collaboration from me. Though I can offer some evidence base for the efficacy of many interventions used in this field, I cannot guarantee a client of success or of achieving absolutely what they wish, though I aim to do so best I can.
